Understanding Christmas - Christmas Eve

This is the Christmas Eve Sermon given at the Church of the Holy Trinity - Chatham on December 24, 2011, by The Rev David Hyman. The text came from Luke 2 - the narrative of Christ’s Nativity.

For you see, as Savior, God has come to orchestrate his great rescue plan – to make all things new. It was a long time in the coming but in the fullness of time, he came.  So at the heart of our Christmas celebration is the joyous reality that God has come to do just this – to rescue.
