WOMen’s Ministry
As a church, we desire to see God at work in and through the lives of women, transforming them into the image of Jesus Christ our Lord, by the power of his Holy Spirit, and equipping them to live out their various vocations.
"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." Hebrews 10:23-25
We gather to:
Encourage one another to hold fast.
Remind one another of our Hope.
Remember the reality that God is at work building His Kingdom here and now.
Combat the isolation and individualism of our culture.
Bible Study
Each fall and spring, we have groups going through a Bible study together. We’ve just wrapped up the book of Hebrews. One group meets Monday evenings, and another on Tuesday mornings (AM childcare provided). Register here. Contact Lisa McCowen with questions.
Cohorts
These smaller, intentional gatherings will be a place to connect, pray and share more intimately than large group gatherings. They meet weekly or bimonthly in many different areas (Durham, Chapel Hill, Pittsboro) and on different days. Contact Lisa McCowen for more information or if you are interested in joining one.
Retreats
We regularly schedule opportunities for women to get away for prayer and fellowship. Join us in the NC mountains this fall for a weekend retreat!
Reflections on our time in Hebrews this spring
-
“For ten weeks, women of all ages gathered on Tuesday morning to study the Letter to the Hebrews. It was a rich and valuable study. We focused on all the ways Jesus is better according to this letter: better than the angels, better than Moses, better than the Old Covenant, better than the Levitical high priests. Better in every way! My personal aim as we study and discuss is not only to know the Word of God but to know the God of the Word. He has chosen to reveal Himself in the Holy Scriptures and it is an awesome opportunity we have to come to know Him better. And as we know Him better we are able to understand ourselves better. And live in the truth of who we are in Christ Jesus.”

“In the spring we spent Tuesday evenings weaving our lives together in front of the book of Hebrews. It was a beautiful time of realizing our connection as sisters – true family in Jesus. We shared scripture with each other in several different languages reflecting the beauty of our differentness complete in the one who holds all things together by the word of his power. But above all, we sat with one another in love learning from Jesus, who is “in these last days, able to equip us with everything good that we may do his will.”

Supporting women and children
Holy Trinity is a place that loves children -- our littlest members! -- and highly values women. If you or someone you know is facing an unplanned pregnancy, you do not have to do so alone. Part of our calling as a church is to come alongside and support you. If you would like to talk to someone, contact Rev. Lisa McCowen (lisa@holytrinitych.org). We have been helped as a parish by the strong work of ProGrace.org; check out their website for resources. We also partner with Pregnancy Support Services of Chapel Hill.
