Ninth Sunday after Pentecost (Red Sunday)

This past Lord's Day was an important service at Holy Trinity. Red vestments were used to stand in solidarity with the persecuted church throughout the world, particularly in Northern Iraq. Moments before the service started, we learned that Father Kent Hinkson's body had been found and a murder suspect was in custody. Father Kent, a local Anglican priest who worshiped and presided at Holy Trinity on numerous occasions, had been missing for a week. In light of these recent events, it was an important time for us to be together as the church to pray, to lament, and to renew our hope in Jesus, who always comes to his storm-tossed church.
