Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost

Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost
David Hyman

In this sermon for Proper 20, we consider Jesus' teaching on how to measure human greatness in the kingdom of God: “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me, receives not me but him who sent me" (Mark 9:37 ESV). This passage draws from James 3:13-4:3, 7-8a and Mark 9:30-37.
