Properly Ordered Love

This Sunday we considered Jesus' hard saying in Luke 14:25-33, "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple." “So set your loves in order!” commanded Augustine. This is the essence of discipleship; it is to love God as your highest priority so to rightly order all other loves in life.
