Give us this Day - The Prayer that Jesus Taught Us Part 4

This sermon is the fourth in a series on the Lord’s Prayer, given at Holy Trinity - Chatham by the Rev David Hyman on January 29th, 2012. It examines the phrase, "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."

We often think we will have peace of mind if we ask God to provide today what we will need for the future. But, as Dallas Willard points out, to have provisions in hand today does not guarantee we will have them tomorrow when we need them. Willard writes, “Today I have God, and he has the provisions. Tomorrow it will be the same: I will have God and he has the provisions. So I simply ask God today for what I need today.”
