We believe in God’s good Kingdom purposes for our parish and this community include pursuing the construction of a church building. After more than a year of prayer and planning, our bishops, clergy, vestry, and invested lay leaders have come to this consensus.
We Need a Place…
Since the launch of Holy Trinity in Fall of 2011, we have worshiped in six different locations, in two towns, in two different counties. We have endured a global pandemic worshiping outdoors from July 2020 until December 2021. Despite many challenges, God has been very good to our parish, enabling us to expand and deepen our ministry and mission to this community. Still, without having our own facility, we have experienced a lack of stability and rootedness in a community, expensive rental fees, and needs for both sacred space for worship and classroom space for child and adult formation.
In our first 12 years of growth, Holy Trinity has rented 6 different locations. This has created instability as well as limited growth. We are now outgrowing our current facility in regards to worship and parking. With a permanent facility we hope to have room for 300 worshippers and designated space for discipleship and mission.
We have continually but creatively adapted to our rental facilities. Even though our current sanctuary was designed to be corporate office space, we have made it lovely. But we are still limited by the design of the building and we are facing constraints for nursery, education, and outreach.
Holy Trinity has always been committed to find ways to serve our community. But we have never been rooted in a specific neighborhood. A permanent facility would allow us to expand our outreach to local neighborhoods – those which exist now and those which will be built in the next several years, including a proposed Habitat for Humanity project adjacent to our property.
Establishing a permanent presence for God’s work through Holy Trinity will encourage the ongoing ministry of the Gospel and the inbreaking of God’s kingdom in this community for generations to come. This facility will not only support ministry in our community but will also enable the planting of new Anglican churches in the Triangle for years to come.
A larger facility will enable our ministries to grow without constraints of space and building design.
Our current rent is expensive. Owning our own building will allow us to build equity and increase our resources for ministry and mission.

We have hired an architect and construction company to design and build a new church home for us in two phases.
Concepts for Our New Building
Offer gratitude to God for the ways He has blessed you through the ministry of Holy Trinity. Here is a way to share your stories of gratitude with us.
Ask the Lord to bless this process and to reveal what He is inviting you to give. Please see this document to help guide your prayers.
Please consider pledging online here. Pledges are the foundation of our financing plan, and fulfilling your pledge is one of the most important ways you can support this work.
Purchase nearby land to build
THIS STEP HAS BEEN COMPLETED!
God provided the funds for us to purchase 12 acres of land less than one mile away from our current facility. This property is paid for and we are currently working with civil engineers, architects, and a construction company to formalize plans to build the first phase of a multi-phase facility that will offer stability to our parish.
Gain capital commitments to fund the design and building of the initial facility
The capital campaign commitments will determine how much we can accomplish in the initial build phase. We have a design committee working on it now. Here are the initial plans for phase 2:
Nave/Sanctuary for 300 members
Ample Parking
Plenty of bathrooms
Kitchen & event prep space
Dedicated space for ministry to families (Nursery, Atrium, Youth)
Outdoor spaces: playground, prayer stations, columbarium
Based on current cost estimates of construction and site preparation, we will need to raise $2.5 – $3 million. The prayer is this campaign will allow us to receive 3-year financial commitments from you to support as much of the construction cost as possible while also securing a loan for the remainder.
Build the facility
We are currently securing permits from the town of Chapel Hill and obtaining a loan to break ground in early 2027 on construction. Lord willing, we will be able to begin worship services in the new church in late 2028.
