Parish Catechist for Children - Lisa McCowen

Lisa is a recent transplant to Chapel Hill with her husband, Shae, and 3 children (Hannah, 12; Matthew, 10; Sarah, 6).  Their family has lived for many years in Minnesota, a few years in Bangalore, India, and most recently, a few years in Park City, Utah.  These many locations have provided rich opportunities for many different kinds of work and church service—teaching Spanish and linguistics in high schools and universities, caring for her 3 children, hosting visiting family and friends, leading small groups for prayer and Bible study, and serving in various PTA roles.
Lisa is grateful for God’s deep provision of Holy Trinity as a church home for her family.  After their first visit, she was drawn in by the intentional lingering at the Communion table, the beauty and intentionality of the liturgy, and a warm, personal welcome from the people of Holy Trinity.  As the interim children’s catechist, she hopes to contribute to building community in the Body of Christ and serving children and families at Holy Trinity.

In her free time, Lisa loves reading, cooking for friends, hiking, running, and being outdoors with her family.
