Ryan moved to the Triangle from the west coast in 2011 in order to attend seminary at Duke Divinity School. He grew up in the mountains of Colorado and moved to Seattle for his undergraduate degree.
In 2015, he graduated from Duke Divinity School with a Masters of Divinity and he is now a bi-vocational deacon and stay-at-home father.
Raised outside of the church, Ryan came to Christ in high school and found an immediate sense of calling toward Christian leadership. After moving from church to church, and from state to state, both Ryan found a home within the Anglican Church, and ultimately, in the fall of 2012, at Holy Trinity Chatham. In his ministry, Ryan dedicates himself to building community through celebrating the love of Jesus Christ in life done together, especially in the gathering around the table at Holy Communion.
Ryan lives in Durham with his wife, Averill. They have one child, Linnea, who was born in 2014.
In his spare time, Ryan enjoys camping and hiking, going to super hero movies, tasting the Triangle’s craft beer selection, and drinking copious amounts of coffee.
